MORLEY, TN (WLAF) – Campbell County Sheriff’s Deputy Christopher West saw a blue Ford Explorer driving north on Hghway 90 on Feb. 26. West was familiar with the vehicle and had been told it had false tags.

When West turned around to follow the Ford, the driver sped up. At this point West initiated lights and sirens to stop the vehicle but the driver continued for approximately a mile before West was able to catch up. When he did catch up, the driver allegedly turned off above a home and drove off road in an attempt to evade arrest, according to a report from the sheriff’s department. West pursued the vehicle for several hundred yards before the driver came to a stop at a dead end.

Once the vehicle was stopped the driver of the vehicle got out of the vehicle and put his hands in the air. The deputy ordered the man on the ground and to sprawl out. As the man followed West’s order, he revealed that he was Carl Anderson.

When West checked the driver’s license, it revealed Anderson was driving on a revoked license with a prior driving while revoked charge.
