Wlaf1450Roger M. “Starvin Marvin” Payne Sr., age 78, of Jacksboro, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, March 5, 2021, while surrounded by his family that he loved very much, which was his wishes that his family honored. He was a member of West LaFollette Baptist Church. He loved spending time on the lake, camping, and spend time with his family and 3 dogs.
He is preceded in death by parents, William and Mabel Payne; brother Don Payne; and granddaughter Shelby Payne.
He is survived by wife Rebecca Payne; son, Roger Payne Jr. and wife Tammy of LaFollette; daughter Melissa Witt and husband Mike of LaFollette; and grandchildren, Jonathan Witt, Elizabeth Long and husband Brandon, and Mackenzie and Madison Payne; and great-granddaughter LolaBeth Long.
Military honors will be conducted at 6:00 PM on Friday March 12, 2021 at West LaFollette Baptist Church by the Campbell County Honor Guard, visitation will follow Military Honors until 8:00 PM. A celebration of life service with follow the visitation at 8:00 PM with Rev. Sampson Ridenour and Rev. David Hicks officiating.
