CAMPBELL COUNTY, TN (WLAF) – On Feb. 22 Campbell County Sheriff’s Deputy Christopher West had parked his patrol car in a gravel driveway on Roses Creek Road. West was outside of the vehicle when Lonnie Lowe stopped his vehicle and rolled his window down.

According to a report from the sheriff’s department, West immediately smelled an odor of alcohol.  West also noticed Lowe was loud and belligerent. After speaking with him, West noticed an open alcoholic beverage between Lowe’s legs. When ask what kind of beverage it was Lowe allegedly responded “alcohol.” When asked how many he had drank prior to the encounter he responded, “a couple.”

Lowe was asked to step out of the vehicle, and West noticed he did not have proper balance. After failing a field sobriety test, Lowe was placed under arrest.

Lowe, 66, Clairfield, was charged with driving under influence (DUI), second offense, and the open container law.  (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 03/04/2021-6AM)
