LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – This week’s teacher spotlight shines on second grade Valley View educator Brittany Davis. She is in her ninth year of teaching.

Davis said she always knew she wanted to be a teacher from the moment she could answer the age old question of “ What do you want to be when you grow up?”

“With a bedroom full of various teddy bear students and a chalk board easel, I never changed what I wanted to be until I made it happen!” Davis said, adding that she has always loved working with kids and seeing them reach their maximum potential academically and socially, while fostering a love for learning. “Being a positive role model to our community’s most impressionable is a driving force for me,” Davis said.

She said her favorite part about her job is “building relationships with the kiddos and watching them grow from the beginning of the school year to the end.”

According to Davis, some positives from this past year despite all the chaos and changes have been her ability to maintain most of her relationships with her students by using online platforms to keep them involved, engaged, encouraged and excited. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 03/03/2021-6AM)
