LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – The City of La Follette is scheduled to meet in its regular monthly meeting this afternoon at 5:30 pm at City Hall. WLAF has the live telecast HERE.

A light agenda is ahead for the mayor and council today. Acceptance of the 2020 year end audit along with approvals of a codes enforcement officer salary of $33,000 and annual pay of $30,437.20 for an animal control officer are on the agenda. Extending the tenure of interim City Administrator Stan Foust until the new fiscal year is also up for a vote.

Police Department business includes approval of the revised police policy manual, the opening of a new special drug enforcement account along with the promotion of two part-time officers to full time. Dispatcher Melissa Hatmaker and Patrol Officer Anthony Mahar are up for the promotions.

“City Council members will conduct interviews for Codes Enforcement Officer on Wed., Mar. 3, starting at 2 pm and City Administrator on Thu., Mar. 4, at 10 am.,” said Foust.

Tennova La Follette Medical Center is the topic of an executive session scheduled for Thursday, March 4, 2021, at 9 am. The meeting will be held at the La Follette Municipal Building at 207 South Tennessee Avenue. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 03/02/2021-6AM)
