LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – Terry’s Pharmacy will be aiding in the COVID-19 vaccinations for school teachers and administrators today and Tuesday. According to the state health department website, Campbell County vaccinations are still in risk based phases 1a1, 1a2 and 1b and age based phases 65+, 70+ and 75+. Phase 1b includes school staff.

Terry’s Pharmacy staff will be onsite to area schools to provide vaccinations. Three teams are going out each day to cover all the area schools. On Monday, Jacksboro Elementary, Caryville Elementary and CCHS teachers and staff will be vaccinated by one team, while another team goes to Valley View Elementary, LaFollette Elementary and LaFollette Middle School. On Tuesday teams will vaccinate educators at Elk Valley, Jellico Elementary, Jellico High School, White Oak, Wynn and the Central Office. This vaccination schedule falls under phase 1b to vaccinate the school systems.

“We hope this will bring some peace of mind to the teachers, the staff and also the parents of students that area educators have been vaccinated,” said Raewyn Snodderly of Terry’s Pharmacy. She said that while the vaccination process may seem as if it going slow, it is beginning to pick up pace, especially now that Johnson & Johnson would be making vaccines as well.

“We are excited and hopeful. Our kids, our society as a whole needs some normal,” Snodderly said. She also warned that just because vaccinations were happening that the public should not let their “guard down and should continue to exercise caution.”

“Continue mask wearing and hand washing and practicing social distancing guidelines,” Snodderly said.

For more information about receiving a COVID-19 vaccination, visit the Terry’s Pharmacy website or call the pharmacy at 423-562-4928 and dial zero for vaccine scheduling. You can also go to the Campbell County portion of the state health department website.

“We know not everyone has smart phones or access to a computer so we are using multiple resources to get the word out about vaccinations and getting on a waiting list. We are hopeful as we progress and get this done that the other phases will continue on, but it is going to take time,” Snodderly said. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 03/01/2021-6AM)
