MORLEY, TN (WLAF) – On Monday, the Tennessee Highway Patrol released its preliminary accident report surrounding a fatal car wreck in northern Campbell County.

Trooper Korey Holbert said in his report that 55-year- old Kenny Powers was traveling south on Highway 25W in his 2019 Kia Forte. The car crossed the opposite lane of travel to the left and ran off the roadway down an embankment striking multiple trees based on the report. The car came to a final uncontrolled rest against a large tree.

One official told WLAF News that the wreck occurred between Jellico and Morley near the one time Wildwood Tavern. Related story.

According to the trooper’s report, Powers, of Jellico, was not wearing a seat belt. The investigation is on-going. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 02/23/2021-6AM)
