NEWCOMB, TN (WLAF) – Campbell County Sheriff’s Deputy Jason Shears went to the 3000 block of Newcomb Pike last Saturday evening to answer a call of a possibly intoxicated female who was being disorderly and causing a disturbance at the pool hall near Depot Lane.

Near Shady Pines Lane, Shears found Kimberly Sherice Stevenson who was walking sideways in the road. She was very unsteady on her feet and appeared very disoriented based on Shears report.

Shears activated his blue lights and told Stevenson to stop but she continued to walk, according to the sheriff’s report. At this point, he attempted to get control of Stevenson by telling her she was under arrest and grabbing her left wrist to place handcuffs on her. She pulled her arm away and began screaming that she was not going to jail and other belligerent statements cussing Shears. He was able to get control of her and arrest her.

Upon arrival at the Campbell County Jail, the staff found a piece of a round orange pill believed to be Clonazepam in Stevenson’s right front pocket.

Stevenson, 38, 159 Model Valley Lane, Clairfield was charged with public intoxication, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and possession of schedule IV-controlled substance. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 02/19/2021-6AM)
