CARYVILLE, TN (WLAF) – Trying to be someone you aren’t never pays off. And in the case of Jessica Parsons it got her arrested.

Parsons was driving on Highway 116 in Caryville when Campbell County Capt. John Long noticed her erratic driving. She the turned onto Ridge Road in Caryville and began driving in an alleged reckless manner going left of center several times before stopping at the intersection of Ridge Road and Dower Lane, according to Long’s report. Next, Parsons turned onto Dower Lane without a turn signal. At this point Long stopped the vehicle, approached the driver and ask for driver’s license, registration and insurance information.

Parson’s allegedly gave Long a false name and said she did not have a driver’s license and was unable to produce any registration or insurance information. When Long contacted dispatch he was told that the person who the named belonged to was deceased, according to a report from the sheriff’s department. That’s when Parsons admitted the name she had given belonged to her sister who was dead and that her own driver’s license was suspended. A short while later Lt. Travis Bostic and his canine arrived. The canine alerted on the vehicle. A search of the vehicle revealed a cigarette in the floor that smelled of marijuana, pill bottles containing a oblong white pill, a round white pill and a rectangular pill. Also found were several small baggies with what appeared to be residue and several needles in the compartment of the vehicle.

Parsons, 41, 2660 Old Cox Road, Ashboro, NC was charged with possession of schedule VI- controlled substance, criminal impersonation, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of prescription drug with prescription, driving while suspended, improper turn, drivers to exercise due care, traffic control device and impeding the flow of traffic.
