Phillip Arnold “Zol” Young, age 71 of LaFollette, went home to be with his Lord Jesus Christ, mother, father, sister, and other fallen brothers of the Southern Sons on Sunday, February 14, 2021. He was a member of the Southern Sons for over thirty years and he enjoyed riding his motorcycle coast to coast with his brother David, which they have done several times.

He is preceded in death by his wife Anna Freeman; parents Lonas Young and Naomi (Wright) Young; sister Annette Young; and sister-in-law Karen Young.

He is survived by sons Jeremy Young and wife Heather of LaFollette , Josh Young and fiancé Laura Bowens of Jacksboro; extended sons Jered Hurt, Erok Solberg, Tielor Carson, and Frank Asbury; daughters Paige Rettberg of LaFollette and MaKayla Ledford of LaFollette; brother David Young of LaFollette; sister Sherry Murray and Fiancé Doug Bruce of Knoxville; grandchildren Maddyson, Andy, Eli, Alex, and Ian Young, Peyton Lasley Kitts and husband Samuel, Allison Rettberg and fiancé Hannah Huckaby, Jeremy Roger “Raj” Young, Scotti Rettberg, Lucas, Lilly, and Evan Young, and Princeton Bowens.

The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:30 AM on Saturday, February 20, 2021 in the chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home with funeral service to follow at 11:30 AM with Rev. Jim Mullens and Rev. H.R Douglas. Interment will follow funeral service at Bakers Forge Cemetery.

  2. That was the most amazing funeral service I’ve ever attended. Thanks to all you Southern sons,outlaws, secret City bikers and others I failed to mention. Thank you for attending the service that was amazing he would have loved it.
