JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – Former Lady Cougars Skylar Boshears and Haley Comer’s college basketball teams won over the weekend.

At Salisbury, North Carolina, Carson-Newman nipped SAC foe Catawba 68 to 63 on Saturday. Boshears had nine points, two assists, four rebounds and one steal. C-N is 12 & 1 and plays Monday at 2 pm at Hartsville, South Carolina (about an hour from Myrtle Beach), against the Coker Cobras in a South Atlantic Conference game.

Comer tallied two points, four rebounds and two assists in Saturday’s key 66 to 52 win at Chattanooga State. Her Walters State Lady Senators are 3 & 1 on the season and avenged a season opening, one-point loss to the Lady Tigers. Walters State hosts the Motlow State Bucks of Tullahoma on Wednesday in a 5:30 pm game at Buda Gym.

Madison Brady’s Tennessee Tech Lady Golden Eagles won at Cookeville on Saturday with a 62 to 45 victory over Eastern Illinois. Brady, a true Freshman, was coming off a career high of eight points and did not play in Saturday’s win. TTU plays at Nashville on Thursday against Tennessee State.

It’s Senior Night this afternoon at Dayton for Sarah Cain-Weinburger. Her 13 & 2 Lady Lions of Bryan College have not played since an 82-69 home win over Reinhardt on Feb. 6.
