CARYVILLE, TN (WLAF) – A deputy attempted to execute a felony warrant out of criminal court over the weekend, but the defendant, Austin McKamey was not at home.

Around 3:30 am on Saturday, Campbell County Sheriff’s Deputy Joseph Weaver was sitting in his cruiser across Highway 116 from McKamey’s Ridgewood home. The deputy then saw McKamey turn into his driveway in a black truck. Weaver pulled into the driveway to make contact with McKamey, but McKamey got out of the truck and fled on foot, according to the report.

Weaver told McKamey to stop. McKamey kept running and ended up getting caught in a barbed wire fence based on Weaver’s report.

McKamey was handcuffed and taken into custody. This was the 26-year- old McKamey’s eighth arrest, and he was released on Mon., Feb. 8, on his own recognizance according to jail records. His charges include evading arrest and resist-stop-frisk-halt-search and is due in court on April 6. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 02/11/2021-6AM)
