LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – Sunday morning’s wet, heavy snowfall took down trees and power lines across Campbell County and the LUB service area. At the height of the outages, a little more than 2,000 customers were without power.

The mission to restore power began soon after midnight Sunday morning and ran through this morning for some LUB crew members. By lunch time, Sunday, assistance arrived from crews and trucks from the Knoxville Utilities Board (KUB).

On Sunday night around 6 pm, LUB General Manager Kenny Baird said, “The KUB crews are coming back in the morning but probably won’t leave here until around midnight tonight. Some of the LUB crews will go home and rest while others will work throughout the night.”

Monday temperatures open in the 20s with a high in the 50s expected under sunny skies. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 02/08/2021-6AM-PHOTO COURTESY OF LUB GENERAL MANAGER KENNY BAIRD)
