LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – The LaFollette Regional Planning Commission held its monthly meeting at City Hall last Thursday (Jan. 28).

First on the agenda was a commercial site plan review. Located at 2508 Jacksboro Pike, Taco Bell is looking at getting a face lift. Tim Minor with Taco Bell states they plan to scrap the old building and rebuild within 90 days. This is projected to start sometime around mid-March.

Plans for this building include converting it from seven units to four.

Next, a commercial site plan review for property located at 219 North Avenue, across the street and down the hill from the La Follette hospital’s nursing home.  Ed Purdy is looking to transform the current structure from seven existing units to four units. This will be used as recovery housing.  All criteria were met and the motion passed.

Another site plan was approved for Chance White of White’s Tire. He is looking to add a 40 X 40 structure to the back of his existing building. The motion carried as far as all the requirements being met. However, nothing on the existing structure can be moved.

Finally, Kyle Turnblazer applied for an in home occupation request. There would be no signage or additional traffic on Mohawk Lane with this request. It would be 100% computer work done within the home. The motion carried. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 02/04/2021-6AM)
