JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – The five hundred fans allowed inside John Brown Gym on Tuesday sounded like 5,000 at times as Campbell swept Central on Senior Night. Watch all the action HERE on demand.

Back on Jan. 21, Central pushed the Lady Cougars to two overtimes before Campbell squeezed out a win. Central blistered the Seth Ward-less Cougars 67 to 46. The script changed dramatically last night as Campbell claimed both games.

The Lady Cougars fell behind 3-0, but after that, it was all Campbell as CCHS won 55-39. On Senior Night, freshman Izzy Proffitt poured through 16 points to lead the way. Cora Browning and Kayleigh Jordan scored 9 points each followed by 8 from Megan Asher and 6 by Keely Nelson. Bailey Gillum added 5 points as Alyssa Brown tallied 2.

The Lady Cougars are 7 & 10 in all contests and sport a 6 & 6 district record.

Winning feels good, and Cougar fans are feeling good about their team after Campbell’s 8th win in the past 10 games. The Cougars battled Central toe-to-toe Tuesday night on Brown Court and won 59 to 57.

“The words Nate’s hot let’s get him the ball” were chattered in team huddles last night during the Campbell – Central game. Hot may have been an understatement. The Cougar Junior rifled through 38 points as his hot Cougars kept Central at bay winning 59 to 57.

“You could see the confidence in Nate’s smile,” said Coach Ernie Mac Clawson. The first year coach exclaimed “they love the taste of winning.”

Clawson was emotional in his postgame interview with WLAF’s Josh Parker during the TCAT Cougar Wrap-Up Show. “I give God all the glory. It’s not me. I wanna thank the good Lord and these kids,” Clawson said.

Fans are witnessing season long comments from Clawson to his players of “it’s not about you, it’s about us” and “you guys gotta have fun, this is basketball; it’s a game” come to fruition.

Aside from Walden’s career night, Devin Jones chalked up 11 points followed by 4 from Spencer Boshears and 2 from Seth Ward.

The Cougars record is 9 & 7 and in the district, it is 7 & 6.
