LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – A LaFollette man earned his 18th arrest after he allegedly stole a truck. Sergeant Brandon Gross answered a call on Tue., Jan. 19 on Blue Springs Rd, in the Pleasant Ridge area of LaFollette about a stolen vehicle.

The victim alleged that Milford Alonzo White had taken his 1999 white Ford truck valued at $2,000 without his permission. He continued that he had picked White up in Caryville and brought him back to his Blue Springs Rd home the evening before. When the victim woke up around 1 am on Jan. 19, he heard his truck leaving the driveway. He continued that he went outside to find White leaving the driveway in his truck without his permission, according to a report from the Sheriff’s Department.

At this point, a BOLO (be on the lookout for) was issued for the truck. A short time later, around 5 am. Sgt. Gross was driving on Central Avenue when he saw a truck matching the description. He was able to confirm this was the stolen truck and conducted a traffic stop. When he spoke with White, who was driving the truck, he allegedly stated he was on his way to return the truck and that he had permission to take the truck.

While he was being booked into the jail, a hypodermic needle was found in White’s right sock. Also found was 0.3 grams of a clear crystal substance believed to be methamphetamine in a green tube container found in his jacket pocket.

White, 52, 768 Coolidge Road, LaFollette is charged with theft of property $1,000-$2,499, possession of schedule II-controlled substance and intro contraband in penal institution. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 01/28/2021-6AM)
