WEST POINT, GA (SPECIAL TO WLAF) – The Bryan College Women’s Basketball team squared off against the Point University Skyhawks on Wednesday night. Bryan starting forward and former Campbell Lady Cougar Sarah Cain-Weinburger (above) finished the night playing 18 minutes and scoring four points to go with two rebounds, two steals and one assist.

The Lady Lions had to dig themselves out of a hole after being down 17-11 at the end of the 1st quarter. Their offense started to click, and they exploded for a 24-point 2nd quarter to take a 35-31 lead at halftime. Bryan built their lead up to 11 points in the 4th quarter, but the Skyhawks turned up the defensive intensity to make a final push. Point went on a 12-5 run in five minutes to cut the lead to one point. Clutch free throws from Gracee Dishman and Karli Combs in the final minute secured the road victory for the Lady Lions.

Bryan improves to 9 & 2 in all games. The Lady Lions remain perfect in the Appalachian Athletic Conference at 9 & 0.
