LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – Traci Leigh Dowdy was driving in LaFollette when Campbell County Sheriff’s Deputy Cody Douglas was notified she was driving on a revoked driver’s license.

When Douglas located the vehicle, he witnessed Dowdy make a lane change without using proper signals. He stopped the vehicle near the LUB offices and Dowdy was unable to provide a driver’s license and Campbell County 911 confirmed the status was revoked. Dowdy’s license was revoked for DUI, and she had a prior charge for driving on revoked, the arrest report said. She allegedly Douglas she had a glass pipe in her possession in which she had smoked methamphetamine a couple of days prior, according to a report from the sheriff’s department.

While waiting for a wrecker to tow Dowdy’s Mercury sedan, Lt. Travis Bostic and K-9 Santo conducted a check on the black car. During the vehicle check, K9 Santo alerted to the presence of illegal substances in the car. Following the K9 alert, a search of the vehicle resulted in the discovery of two small bags of crystal substance in Dowdy’s purse, believed to be crystal methamphetamine, syringes, scales, and a pipe.

Dowdy, 50, 148 Matthew Lane, LaFollette is charged with driving on revoked (2nd offense), possession of a schedule II-controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and failure to give a signal. She made bond and is due in court in March. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 01/15/2021-6AM)
