Leach arrested; was passenger in a car at the time

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – The 15th booking into the Campbell County Jail for 30-year- old Christie Lynn Leach came in a left handed way. She was the passenger in a car that was pulled over for having a bad muffler and making a loud noise, according to a report from the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office.

Campbell County Sheriff’s Sgt. Joshua Lee Jeffers was on patrol Wednesday night when he heard and saw the vehicle with the noisy muffler traveling on Robin Road in the College Hill community. Jeffers said he spoke with the driver, Mark Housley, and gave Housley a verbal warning for the muffler violation. Housley told the sergeant that “the muffler came lose a few days before and that he would get the exhaust system in working order.”

Through a routine check for active warrants, Jeffers learned that Leach had an active warrant out of Anderson County. Leach, of Lake Shore Lane La Follette, was booked into the Campbell County Jail and later released to Anderson County authorities. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 01/05/2021-6AM)
