LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – An altercation at Papa Vapes in LaFollette resulted in vandalism and assault charges for Kenneth Bartley on Friday evening.
According to a statement from LaFollette Police Chief Bill Roehl, officers received a call at 5:29 p.m. Friday regarding an argument between Bartley and a couple at the business location. Once officers arrived on scene at 1413 Jacksboro Pike, they were advised that Bartley had gotten into an argument with the couple and had allegedly broken the rear window out of their car with his fists. Bartley then left the scene.
During the investigation, officers went to Bartley’s Imperial Heights home. When officers encountered 29-year-old Bartley, they “were met with aggression,” the report said. Bartley “spit and kicked officers and struck one officer in the face with his fist,” Roehl said. Officers responded to Bartley’s aggression with the use of pepper spray.
First responders on the scene treated Bartley for the pepper spray and for the cuts on his hands that he had received earlier when breaking out the car window. Bartley was then transported to LaFollette Tennova Hospital for a physical examination.
He will be charged with two counts of vandalism, assault on an officer, as well as possible other charges, according to the police chief. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 11/27/2020-8PM)
