LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – A passerby discovered a body down an embankment on Cedar Creek Road and called E-911 Dispatch Tuesday afternoon at 4:51 pm.

One source tells WLAF that it was the body of a male, in his 40s, that had been stabbed several times. Members of the Campbell County Rural Fire Service used a 24-foot ladder and a stokes basket to bring the body up to the roadway from some 20-feet up.

The 911 caller said that he had previously seen someone staying under the Cedar Creek Bridge over Norris Lake. However, the body was found away from the bridge between the Cedar Creek Baptist Church and Freddy’s Market; closer to the area near the church by one source’s estimate.

Responding agencies included Campbell County EMS and the Campbell County Rural Fire Service. The Campbell County Sheriff’s Office is handling the investigation with assistance from the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 11/18/2020-NOON)
