JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – The Town of Jacksboro met Thursday night in its regular monthly meeting and made quick work of the agenda.

In approximately 11 minutes, the board approved several items. The first item was the approval of a $250 donation to the Children’s Center of the Cumberland’s.  Up next was accepting the bid for paving on Mt. Perkins Lane for $108,761.

The resignation of Jordan Huskey, a full-time officer with the police department, was accepted.  The board approved a new use of force policy for the police department and approved the purchase of computers, printers, laptops, and scanners for the police department.  The Tennessee Cares Act will pay for these items. Through the Coronavirus Relief Fund (CRF), the CARES Act provides payments to state, local and tribal governments navigating the impact of the COVID-19 outbreak.

Hiring a new auxiliary fireman was approved.  October is Fire Awareness Month, and the board approved the fire department purchasing materials to be distributed during the month.  Bids will be accepted for turn out gear for fire department. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 10/05/2020-6AM)
