JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – In a release Friday night from Campbell County Mayor E.L. Morton, the mayor announces:  Governor Lee extended the statewide Covid-19 Emergency through October.  Accordingly, The Campbell County Courthouse continues to operate in accordance with mask wear, distancing and temperature check measures in place.

On Monday, October 5th, we will expand access to two entry points.  The east side entry remains open and will require a temperature check and mask to enter, as has been the case for the past few months.  The additional, west side entry will be between the rock wall and Mayor’s office and will require a temperature check and mask to enter the courthouse annex.  The Trustee Office service windows will be open, as we anticipate tax notices arriving in your mailboxes next week.  Masks are required in the annex and access will be regulated to keep 6 feet of distance between people.  Citizens will be able to access the Mayor’s Office Service Window and Trustee’s Office Service windows.  The Property Assessor Office Staff and Register of Deeds Office Staff will meet you at their office doors and serve your needs there.  The County Court Clerk office can be accessed at the walk up window on the north end of the Courthouse Annex on the covered sidewalk between the County Court Clerk’s office and Justice Center.
If you park in the parking lot by the Sheriff’s Department, you can enter the Courthouse Annex by the Mayor’s office or walk up to the Clerk’s window 80 feet down the sidewalk to the left.  East side parking remains available by the Election Commission Office.
The Courthouse remains compliant with fire code, as all other doors besides the two entry doors, serve as EXIT doors only.  This measure is put in place to ensure temperature checks for everyone.
Elevators remain in service.
The County Court Clerk drive thru remains open in LaFollette & the County Court Clerk Office in Jellico remains open.
Driver’s license renewals are not yet available in the County Court Clerk’s office.  Renewals are available on line, by mail or by scheduling with the Oak Ridge Driver Services Center.  Call Oak Ridge before you travel, at 865-220-6520 to ensure availability.  (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 10/03/2020-NOON)
