LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – The call of two men and possibly a young child in the woods behind a home recently sent Campbell County Deputy Chance Pierce to Coolidge Road, LaFollette.

When Pierce arrived, he watched one of the men, later identified as Danny Lee Green stepping out of the woods next to the house around 6:30 am on Sept. 21.  While Green was being detained by Pierce and Deputy Cole West, who arrived on the scene, he began to say there was another male in the woods.  He then said, “He’s stealing little girls, you’ve gotta go catch him.”  West searched the property but was unable to locate any other people.

At this point, Green allegedly began pointing in front of him and said “There they are! I know you guys see them, go arrest him, too,” according to a report from the sheriff’s department.  When Green was asked where he was pointing, he replied “They’re right behind you,” but there was no one there.

When he was asked if he had taken any medication or had used any illegal substances earlier in the night, Green admitted to using Methamphetamine prior to leaving his residence, as well as being in possession of small plastic zip-closure bag containing a crystal like substance that was retrieved from Green’s front right pocket.

Green, 33, homeless, is charged with violation of probation from General Sessions Court, possession of schedule II-controlled substance and public intoxication.  Green remains housed in the Campbell County Jail this morning with 30 days to serve.   (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 10/02/2020-6AM)
