JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – Campbell County Sheriff’s Sergeant Nathaniel Bostic saw a maroon Ford F-150 pick-up truck driving in the middle of Hatmaker Ridge Road on the afternoon of Thursday, September 10.   Bostic stopped the truck and spoke with the driver identified as Summer N. King. When Bostic told her why he stopped her, she replied that she did want to get to close to the edge of the road due to the size of the vehicle.  Bostic noticed the passenger of the vehicle, Carla Leann Siler, and was familiar with her.  That’s due to a prior encounter where Siler had a large quantity of illegal drugs on her, according to a report from the Sherriff’s Office.

Bostic asked both women to step out of the pick-up.  At this point, the sergeant was joined by Narcotics Agent Matt Forsyth of the 8th Judicial Task Force.  Bostic’s K-9, Santo, was deployed for an exterior sniff of the vehicle, and he alerted to the vehicle. The duo was joined CCSO Deputy James McCall and assisted in a probable cause search of the vehicle.  On the passenger side of the vehicle, a tan wallet was found that King had in her hand at one point.  Inside there was an unopened sublingual film packet believed to be a schedule III-controlled substance.  In the front passenger seat area was purse containing hypodermic needles, a marijuana grinder and a large blue bank bag that was zipped up.  Inside the blue bag was plastic container that had a small plastic baggy inside with a crystal-like substance, digital scales several small plastic baggies that were empty and two glass smoking pipes.  Also found was a prescription pill bottle containing 23 pills with the name of a male patient on the label, according to the report.

When King was questioned about the blue bag, she allegedly stated it was her bag.  She continued that she had picked the bag up earlier in the day.

King, 43, 510 McDeerman Road, Jacksboro was charged with failure to maintain lane, possession of schedule II-controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of schedule III-controlled substance.

Siler, 35, 6237 Stoney Fork Road, Jacksboro was arrested for an outstanding warrant for a violation of probation out of Morgan County.  (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 09/21/2020-6AM)
