LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – La Follette Police Investigators are on the scene where a dead body was discovered by a person passing through the property.   Around 10 am Sunday the call that a body had been discovered in the front yard of an abandoned home at the corner of North 13th and West Prospect Streets.  Grass, likely as high as three-feet, stands all around the corner home.

The home where the body was discovered is two blocks off West Central Avenue at the 13th Street underpass.

LPD Capt. Steve Wallen said, “This person, possibly a male, has been here for quite a while.  The backpack on the body had been gone through.”

The investigation remains on going as investigators are looking into the identity of the person, if it is a homicide and who went through the backpack.  (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 09/13/2020-11:30AM)
