LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – You just never knew where Ronnie Arnold would show up.  It took a few times for me seeing him at random events to realize that the pastor of Cedar Hill Baptist Church was there because one of his church members was there.  He has been such an encouragement and supporter of many for many years.

Arnold’s last sermon at Cedar Hill was  Sunday.  This Sunday, he’ll be celebrated for his service over the past 31 years.  The reception will be from 5 pm until 7 pm at the church fellowship hall.

Arnold has Campbell County roots in that his grandparents lived here and he was a frequent visitor over the years.  He grew up in Knoxville.

Rev. Ronnie Arnold was presented with the 12th Annual Campbell County Good Scout Award in March 2019 before a packed house at the Ball Farm Event Center.  Cumberland District Chairman Brent McNeeley (left) congratulated Arnold as Arnold’s wife of 46-years, Kathy, looks on.

It was that Campbell County connection that connected Arnold and Cedar Hill Baptist Church.  According to Arnold’s son, Troy, when the pulpit came open in 1989, Arnold stepped in that October to deliver a trial run sermon.  He was instantly loved, and that love only grew from there.

After all these years, it’s Reverend Ronnie Arnold’s turn for us to show up for him at his celebration this Sunday.  (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 09/04/2020-6AM)
