LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – When it was learned that the Campbell County Senior Citizen Center’s oversized transport van was parked for repairs, Short-Redmond Ford General Manager Jimmy Bradford and his staff came through in a big way.

The out-of-service big van was designed to transport senior citizens and those needing wheelchair assistance.  However, it was the only vehicle available to use to serve as the daily delivery unit for the dozens of seniors being provided with meals.

The donated van from Short-Redmond Ford will be more practical and economically friendly for the center’s operations.  “We can’t thank Jimmy and the Short-Redmond folks for helping us to be able to continue this vital service,” said Butch Kohlmeyer, Senior Citizens Center Director.

The center has also been fortunate to receive grant assistance from the Campbell County Enhancement Fund and the East Tennessee Foundation.  This funding has been used to acquire a commercial stove and the balance to support supply and food acquisition.  (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 09/02/2020-6AM)
