JACKSBORO, TN- (WLAF)-  Following last week’s withdrawal deadline the fields are set for the elections in Caryville and LaFollette.

No candidates withdrew from any of the races.

The Town of Caryville elections will be completely uncontested.

Incumbents Eric Jones and Patrick Pebley will run for their seats in Ward 2 and Ward 1, respectively;  Loyd G. Lawson will also run uncontested for the Ward 3 seat.

Long time mayor Robert “Bobby” Stooksbury is also running for another term. He is uncontested as well, according to the election commission.

In LaFollette, voters will be electing a mayor and two council members.

Incumbent Mike Stanfield has qualified to seek another term as mayor.  He will not face any competition in the race just as in 2016.

The council race has a full field.

Incumbents Bill Archer and Lonnie “Hot Rod” Wilson will run to keep their seats but have a large field of contenders to face.

Archer and Wilson will compete against Sonya Lee, Keith Cordell, Phillip Farmer and Mike Evans along with prior council members Wayne Kitts, Hansford Hatmaker and Joe Bolinger as they attempt to keep their seats.

A recent addition to the ticket includes the unexpired district 2 school board seat left vacant by Josh James. The two-year term will also be on the November ballot.  To date, former school board member Sharon Ridenour is the only person to have picked up a petition.  Interested candidates have until noon on Sept. 9 to pick up a petition for that seat. The withdraw deadline in Sept. 12 at noon.  The vacancy came about when James moved from district 2 to district 4 and was elected to a four-year term in district 4 earlier this month.

The election will be held Tuesday, Nov. 3.
