LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – On a day where rain has come and gone, the sun broke through the clouds and beamed brightly as the funeral procession for U.S. Army and law enforcement veteran Kevin Scott Parrott made its way from Cross-Smith Funeral Home to Campbell Memorial Gardens.

Parrott’s friendships and working relationships ran deep.  Sheriff Robbie Goins calls Kevin a good friend and a fellow deputy he worked along side for years.  The two attended school together from a young age.  “Kevin and I answered a lot of calls together,” said the sheriff.

“I thought the world of Kevin,” said former Campbell County Sheriff Ron McClellan.  Parrott, a 22-year veteran of the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office, passed away at his home on Wednesday morning.

Kevin Scott Parrott was 52-years old.

McClellan described Parrott as an excellent deputy and pointed out a trait of Kevin’s that is not easy to come by; a real way with people. “Kevin had quite the personality with people how he came across in the community,” said the four-term sheriff.

La Follette Mayor Mike Stanfield said, “Kevin worked for La Follette Police years ago, and one of his sons, Justin, is a part time member of the LPD.”

The U.S. Flag waves in the breeze off the La Follette Fire Department’s ladder unit where the four lane meets Towe String Road.

Parrott was a disabled U.S. Army Veteran, and the Campbell County Honor Guard presented military honors at today’s service at Campbell Memorial Gardens.
