LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – At dusk Thursday evening, members of the La Follette Police Special Response Team and Drug Unit with assistance from the 8th Judicial District Drug Task Force executed a narcotics search warrant at 907 East Prospect Street.

Matthew Forsyth, a narcotics agent with LaFollette Police Department and the drug task force, said, “This has been a high traffic area, and when we arrived, there were several people at the scene.  This was a second go-around with 30-year old Mitchell Swygert and 38-year old Brittany Jones; each were part of a narcotics search warrant that was executed back in June on Ridenour Lane. Thirty-three year old Matthew Purdie was also at the East Prospect Street home Thursday evening.”

This investigation’s undercover work netted purchases of schedule I heroin, schedule II meth and schedule II Fentanyl according to Forsyth.  The veteran narcotics agent said, “On the scene last night, we found a large amount of heroin, an amount of methamphetamine, schedule VI marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

During the execution of the June  16, 2020, narcotics search warrant on Ridenour Lane, LPD Captain Stephen Wallen said, “Swygert was a convicted felon.”
