On Tuesday, the Eighth Judicial District Criminal Court convened via Zoom with the Muse family among the cases called.

Last year, the trio of John Muse, Sr., Monica Muse and John Muse, Jr. found themselves facing a myriad of charges after the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office found a cache of stolen goods in the family’s LaFollette home.

It was announced in court that the district attorney’s office is close to proffering an offer that could bring the case to a close. It was also announced that Muse, Jr. is currently seeking treatment for substance abuse.

When authorities viewed the property believed to be stolen, and talked to other law enforcement agencies, it seemed the Muse family didn’t confine their theft to Campbell County.  Among the items recovered from the home was appliances, clothes and food.

The family each faces six counts of theft over $2,500, three counts of theft over $10,000, two counts of theft over $10,000, four counts of theft under $1,000, three counts of unlawful possession of a weapon, theft over $60,000.

Their case will be called again in October for a status review. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED- 08/27/2020- 6AM)
