DUFF, TN (WLAF) – Citizen complaints prompted investigators with the Campbell County Sheriff’s Department to make undercover buys from individuals at a home on White Oak.  As a result, a narcotics search warrant was executed this morning at daybreak, 7:00 am, at the home at 216 Hatmaker Hollow Road.  Sheriff Robbie Goins said, “Today’s search warrant is proof that we practice what we preach.”

Sheriff’s investigators note that the target was the residence of Penny Sue Marlow, Johnny Brock Monday and Robert Lee Womble.  The search warrant executed at this location was obtained after citizen complaints alerted investigators to suspicious activity occurring at the home.  “Many times we are unable to release information to the public based on the sensitive nature of narcotics investigations,” said the Sheriff.
Investigators initiated an investigation and completed multiple undercover purchases of Schedule II controlled substances, believed to be methamphetamine combined with fentanyl.  This investigation was carried out over a two-month period of time.  This morning, investigators located multiple firearms, Schedule II controlled substances, believed to be methamphetamine, Schedule III controlled substances, thought to be to be Suboxone and Schedule V controlled substances, likely to be Gabapentin.
One arrest was made on the scene.  Forty-year old Daniel Lambdin of Duff was arrested for an outstanding warrant for violation of parole.  Investigators expect that charges are likely against additional subjects based on the evidence collected and previous buys of narcotics from the residence.
“Just this weekend, a concerned citizen contacted the Sheriff’s Office about drug activity in the White Oak community.  The search warrant executed this morning was planned last week prior to this complaint, and the investigation that enabled us to obtain the search warrant has been ongoing for quite some time,” said Goins.
The Sheriff said, “The Sheriff’s Office is going to continue to reach all parts of Campbell County and work to counter illegal drug activity.  I want to thank the citizens who have alerted us to suspicious activity across the county, and we encourage you to continue to contact us at 423-566-3784 (DRUG).  The Drug Hotline is available for tips all the time.”  (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 08/24/2020-6AM)
