CARYVILLE, TN (WLAF) – A report of reckless driver led to the arrest of a Jacksboro woman over the weekend. Once her vehicle was searched officers found open containers of liquor and a mason jar with a mixed drink.

Katherine K. Blankenblicker, 50, of Jacksboro was arrested on Saturday afternoon when Caryville Police responded to the report of a reckless driver near  Hwy 25W and Elkins Road.  At that time, officers did not locate the silver SUV.

Around 30 minutes later, Caryville Police were dispatched to Butter and Egg Road on the report a silver Yukon that was driving “erratically.”  Once officers arrived, they found the silver GMC Yukon parked in two spaces on Park Road near 25W.  The officer found Blankenblicker sitting in the vehicle with it “running and the keys in the ignition,” according to the report.  Police also reported she had a strong odor of alcohol coming from her person. According to the police report, Blankenblicker told officers she had driven approximately one hour prior from the Vasper area to her home and then drove to where she was parked to meet her daughter. She also told police she had one mixed drink about four hours prior to contact with officers and that she had taken a hydrocodone earlier in the day.

Blankenblicker agreed to a field sobriety test which she failed and “showed all signs of impairment,” according to the report.  She also gave consent for police to search her vehicle.  Officers found open containers of vodka, a coffee liquor and a mason jar with a mixed drink in it located behind the driver’s seat and three round blue pills marked “031 and believed to be Xanax in her purse.”

Blankenblicker was transported to the Campbell County Jail and charged with DUI, possession of a schedule IV controlled substance, violation of the open container law and violation of the implied consent law.  (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 08/24/2020-11:20AM)
