La Follette native Rick McCullah spent a rainy Saturday adding some finishing touches to the Central Avenue Bridge.
LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – You never know who you’re gonna meet.  And where.  On a rainy Saturday morning, an ole La Follette boy was hard at work under the Central Avenue Bridge.  WLAF’s Charlie Hutson caught up with Richard “Rick” McCullah.
The bridge refurbishment project that began almost a year ago is closing in on completion as painting underneath took a big step over the weekend.
McCullah was putting the finishing touches on the bottom of the Central Avenue Bridge along with his partner Luke Goodman.  Both work for Planet Incorporated in Knoxville.  Rick, who painted the top part of the bridge a few weeks, shared a few stories with Hutson about hanging out at the creek as a kid.

The superintendent for the refurbishment project, Charlie Bowling with Southern Constructors, Incorporated, said, “This bridge project is about finished.”  (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 08/17/2020-6AM-PHOTOS COURTESY OF WLAF’S CHARLIE HUTSON)
