LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – Salaries topped last night’s agenda at the monthly meeting of the LaFollette City Council.  WATCH the meeting here on demand.

Those changes are an additional $1,800 to Stan Foust’s salary for the additional duties of Infectious Disease Officer, Fire Chief Jimmy Pack salary of $47,069.78 effective 02/01/2020, Assistant Fire Chief Eddie Hatmaker salary of $39,529.88 effective 07/18/2020, Captain Johnny Seal salary $37,498.96 effective 07/18/2020 and Public Works Director Casey Boshears salary $48,719.84 effective 07/18/2020.  Councilwoman Ann Thompson voted no on Boshears salary.  She expressed concern that Pack had been with the city longer than Boshears, yet he was making less money.

Resolution 2020-12 amending the 2020-21 budget and Resolution 2020-13 providing for in lieu of tax payments from LaFollette Utilities were approved.  Ordinance 2020-03 amending chapter three, section 13-306 of the Municipal Code Rubbish Control had its first reading.  The ordinance states that the city administrator or his designee shall give notice in writing to the owner, owners agent or occupant of such lot or parcel of land requiring the cutting, removal and/or destruction of weeds, grass or brush, vegetation or rubbish within seven days of receipt of notice. The notice will be delivered in person, if contact cannot be made in person a letter will be mailed to the last known address of the owner. The notice will be mailed as certified mail.

The council voted due to the current COVID-19 crisis to cancel the 2020 Big Creek Fall ATV Festival.  (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 08/05/2020-6AM)
