JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – There are no contested races in next month’s Campbell County General Election.  However, that’s not stopping the election from heating up.

When Administrator of Elections Ann Ayers-Colvin and her staff came to work on Monday at the election commission office, they knew instantly that Monday’s day of Early Voting would be a “hot one.”  The air conditioning at the office was out, and it was already 81-degrees in the building before 8 am.

Nathanial Morton and other election officials spent a hot day on Monday in their COVID-19 personal protection equipment.

The air conditioning was repaired, and the building slowly began cooling down.  It was 76-degrees by 4:30 pm.  The election and the building should not be quite as hot on Tuesday as it was on Monday.  (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 07/21/2020-6AM)
