JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – Earlier this month, Campbell County Sheriff Robbie K. Goins introduced his office’s newest deputies who graduated from the Walters State Regional Law Enforcement Training Academy.

Deputy Joseph Weaver (above), among the five, is now a member of the Campbell County Sheriff’s Patrol Division.  Weaver went right to work last Monday after being given his assignments.

In a release from the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office, on July 15, Weaver was dispatched to 736 Queener Road in reference to a disturbance.  The deputy arrived at the residence and upon making contact with Steven Blake Franklin, noticed blood on the floor and the sound of crying coming from an upstairs area.  Weaver proceeded upstairs where he found the victim bleeding from her foot and with bruises along her upper and lower extremities.

Franklin allegedly said the victim  cut her foot on a broken bottle and slipped, causing the bleeding and bruising on her body.  However, the victim refuted the statement and said Franklin had been fighting with her since the night prior and had caused the injuries noted by  Weaver.

Weaver arrested Franklin  for domestic assault.

Franklin made bond on the next day and is due in court on July 23.  (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 07/21/2020-6AM)
