JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF)- When the Eighth Judicial District Criminal Court holds session Monday, it will do so in person.

This will be the first time since March the court will be held in this manner.  As COVID-19 numbers began to rise in the spring, the state supreme court halted all in person hearings.

With court attempting to resume, there will be precautions in place. The courtroom will only have 40 people in it, according to court staff.  While masks will not be required the use of them will be strongly encouraged.  Also, the courthouse will still be using the single point entry on the LaFollette side of the building.

Court officials did note that plans are subject to change but will be solidified by the end of the week. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED- 07/08/2020- 6AM)
