LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – A young Campbell County woman escaped serious injury early Wednesday afternoon when her pick up truck slid off Demory Road and rammed into a tree.

You can see how hard the driver tried to slow down and maintain control by the skid marks.

The woman told the investigating Tennessee Highway Patrol Trooper that “I wasn’t speeding.  Honest.  I was braking, and I just kept sliding and couldn’t stop.”  The trooper responded “you’re tires are worn is why.”

The young driver was shaken up but told EMS crew members that she thought she was OK.

The mishap occurred just before 1 pm in a bend of the road on Demory Road just before the east turn off to South High Knob Road.  The THP, Campbell County Sheriff’s Office, Campbell County EMS and the Campbell County Rural Fire Service.  (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 07/01/2020-2PM)
