LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – Riley Faulkner won big on Saturday at the Bass Fishing League tournament on Norris Lake.
He took home the trophy with three large mouth bass weighing a total of eight pounds, 14 ounces.  His largest fish was 3.9 pounds. This garnered him the first place trophy and a check.
He said he caught “a couple early in the day and a couple later in the evening” over on the Powell side of the lake.
Faulkner will be a junior this year at Campbell County High School.  He said he plans to put his $2,400 in tournament winnings “towards a truck.”
He’s been fishing tournaments since he was about five years old with his dad, Jack Faulkner.  He said he learned what he knows about fishing from his dad and his dad’s long-time fishing buddy, Dexter Goins. Riley is among the youngest to take first place at a Bass Fishing League tournament.
His tip for fishing? “Get out on the water and hope for the best.”   (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 06/22/2020-6AM)
