JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – Who would ever think the COVID-19 pandemic would force a bear to come to your house looking for food?

Officials with TWRA explain that due to all the changes surrounding the pandemic, the usual spots where bears look for food are just not there anymore.  For example, maybe a busy restaurant dumpster that is now not being used as much with restaurant business being down.

“Don’t leave food outdoors, food in your car and throw away food in your curbside garbage can.  They’ll even eat chap stick if you leave it in your car,” said one TWRA official.

WLAF received reports of bear sightings on Water Street in Jacksboro and in Wier Woods on Thursday.  (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 06/19/2020-6AM)
