LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – Christopher Tyce Hamblin’s driver’s license is revoked/suspended, according to jail records.  However, that didn’t stop the La Follette man from driving through a couple of yards on Tuesday night.

Campbell County Sheriff’s Deputies Brian Osborn and Dusty Davis caught up with the 48-year old Hamblin near Chadwell’s Market on Long Hollow Road just before 8 pm.  The deputies said Hamblen was driving his red Ford pick-up through two home owners yards on Long Hollow Road.  A witness provided a video recording of Hamblin driving through one of the yards.

Deputies reported that Hamblin smelled of alcohol.  He allegedly admitted to deputies he had been driving the pick-up and having had “a couple of wine coolers.”   Osborn administered a field sobriety test to Hamblin as Deputy Wayne Barton observed.  Osborn said Hamblin performed unsatisfactorily.

Barton deployed K-9 Maya and she alerted to the passenger side door of Hamblin’s truck.  Deputies found a plastic baggy with a green leafy substance inside it in the passenger side floorboard.  According to the report, there was a hand rolled cigarette containing what appeared to be marijuana in the ash tray of the pick-up.

Hamblin was arrested and charged with driving under the influence (DUI), driving on a revoked/suspended – 7th offense and possession of a schedule VI controlled substance.  He remains housed in the Campbell County Jail this morning.  (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 06/04/2020-6AM)
