LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – Just before dark on Tuesday evening, the call of a disturbance after a motor vehicle accident was answered by Campbell County Sheriff’s Deputy Zachary Daugherty. At Cowan Lane, east of La Follette just off Bethlehem Road,  Daugherty arrived on the scene of a car and ATV wreck.  The driver of the car told the deputy, according to the report, that while he was driving on Cowan Lane, the driver of the ATV purposely collided into the left side of his car.  When the driver of the car told the man on the four-wheeler that he was going to call police,  the man identified as 58-year- old Warren Scott Jackson allegedly jumped back on the ATV and drove it to his garage and then ran into his Cowan Lane home.

When Daugherty searched the home, he didn’t find Jackson.  The deputy then searched the wooded area behind the home and was able to locate Jackson hiding in the woods about a quarter of a mile deep into the woods.  Jackson was placed under arrest.

Daugherty allegedly observed a strong odor of  alcohol emitting from Jackson.  According to the report, Jackson told Daughtery that he had consumed eight 12-ounce beers.  (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 05/07/2020-6AM)
