LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – The City of La Follette is holding its first meetings during the COVID-19 pandemic.  The workshop is this afternoon at 4:30pm at city hall immediately followed by May’s regular monthly meeting.  However, the meeting will not be open to the public.  OPEN the video player to your right to watch live.City Clerk Stan Foust said, “The meeting will not be open to the public due to the coronavirus pandemic, but it will be streamed live and be available on the City of La Follette website and Facebook per Gov.Lee’s order.”  It will also be televised live over 1450wlaf.com.  Just click on the video player to the right.

One of the items on the workshop agenda is discussion of the appointment of the fire chief.  If the council decides to send the vote for a new fire chief on to the regular meeting, it will likely be voted upon there.  The two applicants are interim fire chief Jimmy Pack and Lt. Dusty Davis.  Pack was named interim when Chief Charles Eldridge retired earlier this year.
