There’s a help wanted shingle hanging at the main firehouse in Downtown La Follette as the LFD is looking for its next full-time firefighter.

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – For those of us who dreamed of one day becoming a policeman or fireman, that opportunity exists right now at the La Follette Fire Department.  Chief Jimmy Pack announces that there is an opening for a full-time firefighter, and he is currently accepting applications.The official notice reads like this:

The City of La Follette is accepting applications for a full-time firefighter.

Minimum requirements include:

Must be 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or GED.

Must have a valid driver’s license and is required to pass a physical examination.

Required Tennessee Fire Commission FF2 certification.

Required Emergency Medical Responder (EMR).

Must maintain all emergency services related to licenses and certifications obtained prior to or during employment.

Must pass background and driving history check, and pass drug and alcohol screening.

You must apply in person to Human Resources Department, City of La Follette, 207 South Tennessee Avenue, La Follette, Tennessee.

All applicants must fill out an application in full.

The City of La Follette reserves the right to stop accepting applications at any time.
