THP Trooper Ryan Pope detailed in his report that at 11 am on Friday morning, the brown Nissan Murano was attempting to make an illegal u-turn and another vehicle struck the Nissan in the rear end.

RIDGEWOOD, TN (WLAF) – Tennessee Highway Patrol Trooper Ryan Pope quickly sums up the cause of Friday morning’s two-vehicle accident on I-75 at Mile Marker 131.  Pope detailed in his report that at 11 am one vehicle was attempting to make an illegal u-turn in a southbound lane and another vehicle struck that vehicle in the rear end. 

A 2004 Nissan Murano, driven by 37-year old Crystal Yawn of Jacksboro, is the vehicle that was attempting the u-turn according to the report.  The other vehicle, a 2006 Honda Odyssey, was driven by 63-year old Gracian Munyazikwiye from Kentwood, Michigan.

Yawn was the lone occupant in her Nissan while Munyazikwiye had five other passengers in his Honda including a 40-year old woman, three teenagers and a child.  All seven people involved were wearing seat belts with Munyazikwiye suffering minor injuries.

Pope noted that the Nissan came to an uncontrolled final rest in the median while the Honda came to an uncontrolled final rest on the right shoulder.
