LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – Campbell County Sheriff’s  Deputy Joshua Jeffers answered a call on March 18 on Chestnut Circle near Norris Lake where it was alleged that a woman was beating on the doors and windows of a home.  The caller reported  the woman asked for water and then went across the road to the neighbors while staggering.

Jeffers went to look for the woman and found her running down the middle of the roadway toward the patrol car around the 200 block of Chestnut Circle. She was stumbling and very unsteady on her feet. When Jeffers spoke to the woman, who was identified as Cory Rashelle Brown, she alleged she had been at a friend’s house and had been walking around for months jumping from yard to yard looking for her lost cellphone, according to a report from the sheriff’s department. She was unable to tell Jeffers who her friend was or where they lived. During this time, he noticed she was unsteady on her feet, had slow and slurred speech, pinpoint pupils and was talking to people who were not there. The sole of her shoe had come completely off, and she was dragging her foot on top of it saying the ground was shocking her feet. During this time, she became extremely frightened and stated that the Cat in the Hat was behind Jeffers and she was going to strangle and kill him.

Brown, 25, homeless, Jacksboro, was charged with public intoxication. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 03/26/2020-6AM)
