LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – Spring officially arrives in Campbell County tonight at 11:50 pm.  Generally, spring begins on March 20 or 21.  However, this year, spring starts earlier than it’s started in more than 100-years.Perhaps it’s only fitting that well above average highs and lows are here today and Friday as spring opens.  Our Thursday brings a very windy, more clouds than sun, highs in the 70s day as temps push just short of 80-degrees.  Right at 76 is where we’re thinking our high will top out today versus the average high of 60-degrees.  Tonight’s low only slips to 63 which is 25-degrees above average for a March 19 low.  Friday will be wet, very windy and warm with a high of 72.  Tomorrow brings a day and night of showers and thunderstorms with cooler air filtering in Friday night sending temps into the mid-40s.

We’ll be rain-free after daybreak on Saturday with a partly sunny day and a high of 57 to start our weekend.  Saturday night chills to 38.  For Sunday, more clouds than sun, a small chance of afternoon rain and a high of 59.  (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 03/19/2020-6AM)
