LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – Effective immediately, City Hall is closed in La Follette.  Starting at the end of the business day on Tuesday, the City of La Follette is closing all non-essential functions.

In a release from the City of La Follette:

Due to the public health concerns related to the Covid-19 (Coronavirus) and in an attempt to reduce public exposure for our citizens and employees, the mayor and city council are taking a proactive approach for our community, have decided that the City of La Follette will be closing all non-essential functions on Wednesday, March 18, 2020, at 7:30 am.  This will tentatively be for a two-week period and will reopen on Wednesday, April 1, 2020.

Police and Fire along with household garbage pick-up will continue on a routine basis.  City Hall is closed.  This includes the City Clerk’s office, the Police records office, the Library, Rec Center and Street Department offices.  All 911 services will be operational and in place.  If you need immediate assistance, please call 423.562.8331 or 423.562.8332.  In case of emergency, please dial 911.  (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 03/17/2020-11:30AM)
